Code of Conduct

The Captain assumes full responsibility of the vessel, crew, customer and assets at all times:

 

    • 1. Captain will make every concession to accommodate clients request as long as it does not put client, crew or vessel at risk of damage or injury.
    • 2. Captain shall adhere to Merchant Navy Code of Conduct approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
    • 3. Termination of the captain and his services must be done in port or the captain may be relieved underway by another onboard who has the qualification and experience required to assume the roles and responsibilities as captain.

The Captain will ensure that he nor any crew will consume alcohol or other behavior modifying substances within eight hours of the commencement of a delivery, lesson or task required of the captain or crew.

  • Captain will ensure vessel is properly crewed for the task:
  •  
    • 1. Deliveries of 800 NM or less one captain, plus one crew.
    • 2. Deliveries over 800 NM and less than 1500 NM require  one captain and two crew or the addition of one lay day.
    • 3. Deliveries over 1500 NM requires one captain and three crew or the addition of a lay day every 700 NM.

  • Good steward of the client, resource and funding:

    • 1. Provisions are established per day for the entire delivery. 
    • 2. Meals or other provisions while off of the vessel are the responsibility of the individual crew members (Captain included).
    • 3. Captain is responsible for provisioning for crew members.
    • 4. Assisted deliveries (client onboard) the client is responsible for provisioning. 
    • 5. Hotel, airfare, ride shares and rental car allocations are established expenses, and any amount that exceeding estimated expenses is the responsibility of the captain.

  • Lay Days and Repairs

  • 1. Captains shall minimize any none productive time.
    • 2. Lay days for weather will be established at 50% of the normal day rate for captain and crew.
    • 3. Lay days for repairs will be the full day rate for the captain and crew for the first full day and 50% of the normal day rate thereafter.
  • 4. Repairs expectations of greater than 4 days, captain and crew will return to home station unless, otherwise approved by SinBad controllers and client.
